Travelling crafters

Travel is always a wonderful source of inspiration.

You have the possibility to discover hidden treasures, explore new places, see unusual pieces. You are relaxed and openminded, so it’s the best situation to see things with the calm and attention they deserve. You also have time, so you can think thouroughly, planning with care. The perfect state of mind and soul to appreciate what you discover and find ideas for new craft projects!

During our trips we have been looking for local traditional crafts to discover, and we have often met  by chance awesome crafters or handmade projects. Sometimes we took ideas from what we saw to make our own projects.

Meet the Crafter

“Meet the Crafter” aims to showcase awesome creators around the world, with the main goal of inspiring others like them.

We interviewed talented crafters who wanted to share with us their making journey. Stories of success, for sure, but in many cases simple real stories made of passion, learning, mistakes, even courage. The evolution of a passion into something tangible, shared and inspiring.

Because sometimes what we need most is not a perfect example, but a relatable one.

Events

Fairs, festivals, markets, exhibitions, reenactments: a display of events we attended and we recommend to other crafters.

"Celtica" Festival and Valle d'Aosta

A special event that is always in our hearts and has inspired us most is Celtica Valle d’Aosta, an annual festival in the Italian Alps that is really a must see.

This festival also lives in a region that is imbued with crafting traditions worth exploring, through museums, shops, exhibits and other events specifically related to crafts.

Embroidery shops directory

We are compiling a list of embroidery shops all over the world, recommended and trusted by fellow embroiderers. A carefully selected resource to find small businesses, brick-and-mortar stores near you (that you can also explore through a map), online sellers chosen by our community.

Each one has a few words from an embroiderer to tell you why you should choose it, too. Not just a directory of contacts and addresses, but real curated recommendations.
