Irish dance solo dress for competitions

Irish dance

Starting from a 50’s black dress with an ample skirt, I made an Irish dance solo dress for competitions.

We added black sleeves to the original dress, covered in green lace. We cut the skirt, added a green tulle underskirt for volume, then added ten triangles in green fabric.

Final step, decoration: I hand-sewn pieces of green lace on the front bodice and skirt then I hand-stitched more than 300 crystals.
