This is like the second version of the Acanthus decal (in use around 1880–1884), but with a Chinese design on the bed of the machine.
The Chinese characters in the center of the bed are in Seal Script, a very old and decorative writing style.
In traditional Chinese:
福 — fú = good fortune / blessing
禄 — lù = prosperity / wealth / official success
寿 — shòu = longevity
喜 — xǐ = happiness / joy
Together, 福禄寿喜 (fú lù shòu xǐ) is an extremely traditional auspicious combination meaning roughly “fortune, prosperity, longevity and happiness.” These characters were applied specifically on machines produced for the Chinese market.
